A Commemoration of Thomas Laws Slave – Union Spy – Hero 3rd Battle of Winchester 1864 Thomas Laws acted as a spy moving between Union Troop encampments and Confederate Troop encampments resulting in the successful win by the Union Army – thereby paving the way for success for General Sheridan as the Union Troops moved toward Washington, DC.
